Here at Pinnacle Adventures our main aim is to provide our customers with great hospitality and a home from home experience whilst you spend your time with us in the beautiful italian alps.
Whether your break is to relax and recharge in a peaceful mountain environment while taking in the beautiful backdrop along with experiencing local walser cuisine culture and history or maybe you want to get your pulse racing and be part of the backdrop and take advantage of some of our adrenaline filled activities either way we have it covered!
The two minds behind pinnacle adventures are long time friends Claudio Meynet and Paul Breary, both keen adventurers they have formed pinnacle adventures to give you the opportunity to experience the hidden gem in the italian alps named “the monte rosa experience “
Claudio who is italian and lives in macugnaga is passionate about providing the perfect hospitality and giving you the best macugnaga has to offer, he is a family man, well respected member of the community in macugnaga, an accomplished skier and very knowledgeable on the local area so feel free to ask any questions you may have whilst your with us.
Paul is British but has italian family and considers macugnaga his second home although he lives in the uk he is often in macugnaga, whether it be a quick trip over to sample a new experience that’s being considered by claudio and himself to offer their customers, running a tour or just visiting, Paul also a family man and a keen snowboarder will often be on the pistes during the winter season with claudio and their families and friends when time frames allow.
Claudio and Pauls ethos behind pinnacle adventures is to offer you the customer a high end service and they felt “you can’t offer something you have not experienced yourself” so with that in mind every experience we offer has been tested and tweaked by them until they were happy it was good enough for them to offer to you. Claudio also runs our hotel so this same ethos is instilled in everything pinnacle adventures is involved in meaning you get the same quality of service from the day you book with us until the day you leave to go home, which at pinnacle adventures, we feel it is important to provide that personal experience and hopefully see you again year after year.
Macugnaga is a small village in the Italian alps, just under the astonishing Monte Rosa.
Small wooden houses, nature, wilderness and friendly people are what you are going to find there. The village extends for 6km, from Pestarena, the old miners village, to Pecetto where the ski runs are located and the chairlift starts to reach “Belvedere” just under the stunning Monte Rosa, where it seems that you can touch it with your hand!
Staffa is the center of the village, where you can find small shops, pubs, bar restaurants or catch the cable car and go up to Monte Moro, an incredible terrace view of all the monte rosa and right on the border of Switzerland, with beautiful views and scenery of the swiss alps.
If you prefer a lower height excursion, from the village of Isella you can easily ride the trail up to the fairy lake, by e-bike, horse riding or on foot. This lake is a beautiful place for picnics or for just enjoying nature, following the gentle river walk deeper into the woods and mountains.
Coming down from there you can get to Borca, where the visitable gold mine is and have a tour discovering the miners’ work while you are guided in the tunnels of the only gold mine open to public in Italy.
In Borca there is also the old Walser house museum. Discover the typical life of the first Walser people who lived here, by visiting an original house with its little rooms and ancient tools and wooden artcrafts used by the mountain people.
Another nice museum you can find in Staffa is the mountain and contraband museum, where you can learn all the great climb accomplishments.
In the village of Pecetto is where our Hotel Signal is. It’s a small typical hotel with 18 rooms, in a quiet location. The Meynet family, running it from 1949, will do their best to make your holiday unforgettable by providing you with some authentic experiences, local food and family like environment. After a day skiing you could sit by the fire and have a drink, or relax in your room’s balcony, admiring the mountains and enjoying the peace.
In the Hotel Signal you can have your single room, if you travel on your own or need your private space, double rooms or family rooms up to four beds.
In the morning you can start off your day with a nice breakfast, with sweet and salted buffet, hot drinks served at the table.
